Halloween

Image
Halloween Event This is an event that I documented into a short video. It was a Halloween themed parade that took place in the town center that included people from the college as well as local businesses and places. I decided to edit in a fast paced style to help show how the event was paced when it happened. I showed a variety of things that happened at the event and included a variety of shot types and angles.

Showreel

Image
Showreels   Looking at pre-existing showreels I can see that they are relatively short only lasting between 1-3 minutes maximum. This is to give people a brief overview of what you can offer as a business and also show people what you enjoy doing with your time by showing them projects you have worked on.  Showreels are a great promotion tool for smaller businesses as they help show potential clients what work they can  expect from you.  This is an example of a showreel for a company called Cut media. As you can see from their showreel and by their editing style they prefer fast-flowing edits and like to pace the video to suit the action that's being shown. This is very effective when paired with the correct music as they have shown, this allows the video to look and sound natural and also keep the viewer entertained due to the natural feel of the video. They use a variety of clips to really help sell themselves and show how much of a wide range of content that ...

Website Design

Image
Website Design Home Page This is my home page which is the first screen you are taken to when entering the website. It consists of headings to take you to different pages within the website, social media links to take you to different social media accounts and also shows the viewer the most recent project I have completed in this case it was a Halloween event in the town centre, this can be paused if the viewer does not wish to watch it. The background is a picture of a local landmark that I have taken and is being used to show where I am currently living and also gives a sense of regional identity. I have used the opacity tool to make the picture more opaque so that the text and logo stand out more and can be read more clearly. I have kept the black logo text theme running through the page by keeping all the text on the site to black colour, the only thing I have changed is the size and colour so people can easily distinguish what is the logo and what isn't.  Portfolio Page T...

Business Cards

Image
Business Cards A business card is  a small card printed with one's name, occupation, business address, etc. They are used when promoting a business.  When designed correctly, your business card reminds people of the first time you met and encourages those who are interested in your products or services to get back in touch or visit your website for more information.  Knowing what to add and what to leave out helps create a card that’s both eye-catching and well-balanced. Try not to only focus on the graphic elements and text you want to add, but consider the space around them too.  This is an example of a pre-existing business card, As we can see they are double-sided and have contrasting colours to show a clear difference between the two sides. We see a reversed design on each side as well so it keeps the continuity. The overall design is pretty simplistic and gives all the relative information without overcrowding text or a complicated design. The size of th...

Logo Design

Image
Existing Logos I have looked around on the internet for some already existing logos for some inspiration.  These are some of the logos I have found on the internet, some of them are well known, some less know. In all of these logos they all feature the companies name and some include some sort of image. This shows that both of these types of logos are effective due to them being simple but are effective in getting a brands identity out there.  A good logo is distinctive, appropriate, practical, graphic and simple in form, and it conveys the owner’s intended message.   Simplicity : Simplicity makes a logo design easily recognisable, versatile and memorable. A good example of a simple logo would be the Nike or Adidas logo. Memorable : A Memorable logo is when a logo can be recognised and remembered because it's unique and iconic. This is when you can be shown the logo and instantly recognise it. A great example of this is like likes of McDonald's or KFC Timeless : Be...
